Indy Anna Bones was visiting her favorite gnome when she first heard of the UFO Capital of New York.

UFO Capital of the Northeast

Pine Bush, NY

She had come to solve a gnome crisis. Officially titled "Gnome on the Grange," the project was sculpted in 2006/7 by artist, Maria Reidelbach.
While his base proclaimed him the World's Largest, this gnome was only the second largest concrete gnome, and the THIRD largest gnome in the world.
Indy Anna eased his worry with a stylish new scarf, and the gnome told her a secret.
Not far away was a town where Indy Anna was almost sure to meet a live extraterrestrial.
The gnome bid farewell, reassured and with spirits lifted and a smile on his face once more.
The initial investigation of Pine Bush was promising.
The little town had been a hotbed of UFO activities since the 60's, and the people of the town have embraced their status. If Indy Anna wanted to meet an alien, she would need to come back at a later date...
UFO's are serious business in Pine Bush, a little town ten miles off Interstate 86.
Pine Bush was made famous in the early 1990's, when Ellen Crystall published her book, "Silent Invasion," detailing her UFO experiences in the region.
As the town population grows, sightings have waned, but Pine Bush remains proud of the paranormal heritage, and they celebrate every year with a festival and parade.
Everywhere Indy Anna looked there was an extra terrestrial from one race or another.
In 2018, Pine Bush celebrated the grand opening of the Pine Bush UFO & Paranormal Museum, a collection and tribute to all the wierdness of the surrounding area, complete with an alien abduction table that visitors can lay upon for probing.
People come from miles around to take part in the festivities.
Paranormal researchers relate stories of the aliens, ghosts, Sasquatch, and dogmen they've encountered during investigations.
Vendors, crafters, and indie-artists set up tables and tents on Main Street to sell alien-themed swag.
Even Bigfoot is welcome, after all, he might be an alien.
Bigfoot does get surly after a party, so watch your step.
There is no fear of abduction at the fair, everyone is enjoying themselves.
At 2pm, everything stops, and Main Street is cleared for the alien parade.
The 2018 festival was delayed from May to June when Pine Bush was struck by a tornado that caused massive damage and left much of the town without power for days.
The additional heat did not deter costumed participants.
Could it be a few of these costumes were a little TOO authentic?
Certainly some would prefer the event was forgotten.
A few of the aliens may not have the best intentions.
A walk on the wild side never hurt anyone.
Indy Anna could not be sure she had seen an authentic extra terrestrial, but she could not have enjoyed her time in Pine Bush more. As she headed home to New York City, she kept her eyes turned to the sky through the Hudson Valley... just in case.
