In 2010, Matthew Juser lost his two year battle with brain cancer at the age of 28. Throughout his life he would go to any length to help his friends and family. The Matthew Juser Memorial Scholarship was founded to let him continue when his body could not. Scholarships are awarded annually to BOCES Evertech High School students in Binghamton, NY. Students submit works of short fiction to be judged by literary professionals. The Matthew Juser Memorial Scholarship is a pending 501c3 charitable organization.

Matthew graduated in 2001 from what would become the first class of Broome-Tioga BOCES Evertech High School. His curriculum was tailored around hiss individual strengths allowing Matthew to train in auto-body repair and succeed in academics where he’d previously struggled.
